     Rhythmic gymnastics is a branch of gymnastics which combines dance and acrobatic skills with the use of balls, hoops, ribbons, ropes, and clubs. All routines are set to music and the gymnasts perform routines individually or in groups.  Our club is seven years old and has accomplished quite a bit over this time. We began with three girls in 2004 and have now grown to 42 registered members. Our club belongs to the Monmouth County 4-H, which is under the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. We also belong to and compete under the USAIGC system (United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs). Our gymnasts have competed in State, Regional, National, and International competitions, and our club is the largest rhythmic club in the state and the only 4-H based rhythmic gymnastics club in the United States.
